Local up-to-date data are the most important prerequisite for an effective control of pests and diseases by reduced pesticide applications. .
This applies to organic production as well as conventional/integrated control. Results available from fruitweb result from continuous integration of incoming weather data
through the latest version of the well-known forecasting programme RIMpro.
RIMpro is being updated continuously since 1992. It is our ultimate goal to collect detailed scientific knowledge, long-standing phenological observations
and practical experiences by growers and advisors, and to make available this pool of knowledge for practical on-farm use. Access is facilitated by a computer model
with a user-friendly and intuitive interface.
Since natural processes do not always conform to linear relationships, RIMpro simulates non-linear, dynamic population growth.
In this way, the influence of environmantal parameters on population development can be simulated as realistically as possible.
Models for new pests, e.g. sooty blotch, are continuously being developed on the basis of scientific data, and validated by means of field trials, users experiences
and newly published knowledge.
